The city of ground to a halt on Wednesday morning after a VW kombi servisi van burst into flames on the West Gate Bridge.
The vehicle was near Williamstown Road when it caught alight, kombi Servisi causing traffic chaos on the main thoroughfare from Melbourne’s western suburbs to the city centre.
Shocked witnesses captured images and kombi Servisi footage of the blaze which showed the van with smoke billowing from it.

One image posted to radio Twitter page showed the campervan fully engulfed in flames as firefighters jumped out of their truck to battle the blaze.
VicRoads told Daily Mail Australia the lane where the burnt out vehicle remains is still closed and there are extensive delays in the area.
