Dipo Doherty is a young emerging artist currently based in Lagos. He holds a Bsc. in Mechanical engineering from the University Of Virginia in the United States. Over the course of his 3 years in practice, he has held major solo and group exhibitions both in the United States and Nigeria. ‘Coherence In Duality’ will be Dipo’s sophomore solo exhibition and will showcase a diverse body of works ranging from paintings to sculptures.
His works have been described as “modern”, ‘elaborate’, “evocative’, and “having a touch of African and Eastern influences”. His multi-cultural pieces also speak volumes of his major influences from synthetic cubism, Taoist philosophies, and American post-war
contemporary art.
